Job Summary:

The Director of Player Personnel reports directly to the General Manager. The Director of Player Personnel is responsible for managing and coordinating all evaluations for the football program.

*Willingness and ability to travel as well as work evenings, weekends and holidays. *

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Identify evaluate and collect data and video on transfer prospects to provide direction to the coaching staff through available and permissible sources.
  • Oversee evaluation procedures, protocols, and overall operation of transfer evaluations and recruiting.
  • Oversee a team of Scouting/Recruiting Analysts
  • Assist the General Manager with all aspects of the recruiting Operation.
  • Manage and update recruiting boards.
  • Oversee creation of daily watch lists for coaching staff.
  • Ensure all prospects are going through the proper evaluation steps as it pertains to each staff member.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference, CSC and the NCAA.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience

Minimum Competencies:

  • Significant experience in high school, college or professional football
  • Previous management experience
  • Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact and establish engaging relationships with a wide variety of constituents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred

Preferred Competencies:

  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, CSC, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $98,000 to $122,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
