Job Title: Market Manager, Gas Odorants

Division: Thiochemicals

Location: Radnor, PA with 50% travel

JOB SUMMARY

Arkema Inc. is seeking a strategic and driven Market Manager, Gas Odorants to lead the North American business within our Thiochemicals Business Unit. This role is responsible for driving regional sales performance, managing the P&L, and shaping the strategic direction of the Gas Odorants business.

The position requires deep market insight into the odorized natural gas sector and will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, mitigating risks, and enhancing Arkema's competitive positioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Sales

  • Actively visit, manage, and develop the Odorants customer base.
  • Responsible for understanding customer and competitive dynamics.
  • Responsible for issuing timely customer call reports.
  • Develops, prioritizes, and supports customers through account plans and growth strategies.
  • Responsible for the negotiation and management of all customers bids and contracts.
  • Responsible for setting all customer pricing.
  • Provides business guidance to the blending and logistics operation in Pineville, LA.

Market Management

  • Manages all marketing aspects of the Odorant business including pricing, product offerings, and promotion through marketing tools, trade shows, and industry organization.
  • P&L responsibility for the NA Odorants Business.
  • Provides market analysis and customer analysis for strategy development.
  • Performs customer segmentation studies.
  • Works closely with the Supply Chain team and participates in S&OP meeting to ensure availability and timely supply of products to customers.
  • Monthly business reporting.
  • Develops strategy for the North American Odorants Business, working with the Business Director.
  • Establishes clear tactical processes, working closely with the Pineville management to maximize the efficiency of the day-to-day operations for the business.
  • Responsible for the annual budgeting and 5-year planning for the North American Odorants business
  • Works closely with the global Business Manager in Europe and Pineville leadership to ensure alignment in strategy and execution.
  • Drives Responsible Care and product stewardship efforts in conjunction with HES.

Business Development

  • Oversees Business Development Manager who has a primary responsibility for the development projects related to a specialized services component of the business.
  • Responsibility for developing new business/product opportunities.
  • Drives and contributes to cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives within Thiochemicals.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Experience: A proven leader with a minimum 7 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business-related functions.

Education: Bachelor's degree required; technical field preferred (MBA preferred).

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability and experience working in a matrix organization and multi-cultural environment.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of P&L, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Proven track record in commercial sales with strategic selling skills. Proficient in customer relationship management, pricing strategies, negotiation, contract management, market intelligence, and marketing communications.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions including sales, operations, R&D, supply chain, and logistics.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of managing time and priorities effectively. Demonstrates strong planning and follow-through.
  • Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; experience with SAP and Salesforce.com preferred.
  • Willing and able to travel to customer sites, distributors, and the Pineville, LA location as needed.
