Summary:

The Project Manager - Solar is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale solar projects in the Commercial, Industrial, and Utility sectors, typically in the range of 20kW to 20MW.

We are looking for a Project Manager with at least five years of experience that can confidently lead and manage solar energy projects from start to finish, including site assessment, feasibility studies, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Our Project Managers are responsible for managing cross functional teams (leasing, zoning, architecture & engineering, construction, integration & optimization etc.), reporting progress to SAC management, communicating with clients; and ensuring SAC meets scope, schedule, cost and quality metrics for the project. This role requires a deep understanding of solar energy systems and the ability to manage complex projects and navigate a unique regulatory environment.

This position is fully remote for candidates based in the United States. You will work from home while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Frequent travel across U.S. states to visit project sites and engage with local communities should be expected.

Responsibilities:



  • Define project scope, schedule, cost, resources, risk, quality, and deliverables in collaboration with customers and SAC management.
  • Direct and manage solar project development from beginning to end.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Forecast & Actualize SACW System of Record (Site Tracker)
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. When and if necessary, make the case for additional staff or contract resources to support the project.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Perform and communicate Risk Analysis for the project.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project reviews and create recommendations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.



REQUIREMENTS:



  • Five or more years of hands-on Solar PM experience through the full project development cycle, including land evaluation and acquisition, planning and permitting, interconnection, engineering, site surveying, construction, environmental and regulatory compliance, and financial evaluation.
  • Experience in energy storage with L2-3 EV Charging installations also valuable.
  • Advanced Knowledge of project management skills, with understanding of scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, resource, and deliverable management.
  • Ability to manage multiple project types simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator, written and oral with ability to present to management.
  • Previous experience in a matrix organization
  • Developed Financial knowledge, ability to define/track project/program financials such as Budget, Margin, Invoicing, Revenue recognition.
  • Process and detail oriented.
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Point, Projects.
