DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Care Manager 2, you will function as the main Protective Service Care Manager for older adults, which involves receiving reports of need for protective services, investigating reports received, assessing the needs of protective services consumers, and developing and coordinating the implementation of service plans for protective services consumers. Protective service involves activities, resources, and supports provided to older adults to detect, prevent, reduce, or eliminate abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment. After being state certified to perform protective service investigations, you will be responsible for following Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) state regulations on policies and procedures for protective services. You will be responsible for taking protective service referrals after normal working hours on an on-call basis, during hours that are designated by the supervisor. Excellent communication and networking skills are essential, as you will be coordinating with police departments, hospital social service staff, nursing home and personal care home staff, and various home healthcare agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position requires on-call hours on a rotating basis.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as an Aging Care Manager 1 or a County Caseworker 1; or
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
  • Six months of professional human services or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
