Job Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Risk Manager to oversee and ensure adherence to all contractual, state and/or federal obligations across the organizations. This role involves monitoring contracts, assessing risk, enforcing compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage compliance with all contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Conduct contract reviews to identify and mitigate risks, inconsistencies, and non-compliance issues.
- Monitor and manage compliance with contractual obligations, federal regulations, ERISA, and 401(k) plan requirements.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure 401(k) plan operations and third-party administrators remain in full compliance.
- Review contracts to ensure alignment with federal laws, including DOL and IRS guidelines affecting employee benefit plans.
- Work closely with legal, procurement, finance, and operations teams to ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Develop and implement contract compliance programs, checklists, and audit procedures.
- Track key contract milestones, renewal dates, and performance indicators.
- Lead internal audits and prepare reports for leadership on compliance issues, corrective actions, and status updates.
- Provide training and support to staff on contract compliance requirements and best practices.
- Communicate with various departments, ensuring compliance requirements are being met.
- Manages/coordinates any external audits that may occur along with the billing, clinical, and auditing departments
- Provides support and consultation to Legal, Billing, Operations, and Human Resources departments during audits
- Assists with development of materials and compliance-related policies and implementation of Compliance initiatives and/or program requirements
- Assists in updating company compliance policies and procedures and communicating with the education department to ensure that staff are educated on these policy and procedure updates
- Assists in managing and responding to compliance inquiries and incidents, and participates in root cause analyses
- Facilitates integration of compliance-related processes in the company's business departments and systems
- Ensures appropriate retention of records related to the Compliance Program
- Ensuring adherence to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws as applicable
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all internal and external compliance matters
- Serve as contract administrator, focusing on successful completion/implementation of all contract deliverables, including: state audits; emergency management, internal trainings on state and program requirements/business rules, internal reporting of survey results and implementation of any corrective action plans, and coordination with appropriate state/program on Requests for Information and other communications.
- Works with various departments to ensure the collection and submission of data to appropriate federal and state licensure entities in a timely manner
- Identify and assess potential risks and develop plans to minimize or eliminate them
- Work with upper management to address ethical violations or compliance issues and find solutions
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Paralegal certification or equivalent legal training preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a paralegal or contract administrator role, preferably in a corporate or in-house legal environment.
- Extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and interpreting commercial contracts.
- Familiarity with legal and business terminology, and a solid understanding of contract structure and language.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management tools (e.g., Ironclad, DocuSign, Concord, etc.).
