Lucas Meyer by Clariant, a leading brand within Clariant's Care Chemicals Business Unit, is seeking a Business Development Manager. Lucas Meyer Cosmetics is one of Clariant's fastest-growing and most respected brands, known for its innovation and leadership in the beauty space, making this a high-impact opportunity within the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for growing sales, enhancing the market presence, and building strong client relationships throughout the West Coast cosmetics and personal care market. You'll leverage your network of brands, contract manufacturers, and consultants to identify new opportunities, manage key accounts, and deliver innovative ingredient solutions through a consultative B2B approach. This hybrid role is based out of our El Segundo, CA office, with 1-2 in-office days per week and the remainder of your time spent visiting customers throughout your West Coast territory. Responsibilities:

* Achieve yearly sales objectives by developing and maintaining business with customers
* Conduct frequent visits to customers to promote Lucas Meyer Cosmetics ingredients
* Utilize understanding of raw materials, active ingredients, formulations, and industry trends, to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive revenue
* Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify business opportunities and enhance competitive positioning
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
* Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Formulation, R&D, and Customer Service to align sales initiatives and identify new opportunities
* Maintain and grow a strong sales opportunity pipeline
* Develop expertise in active ingredients and coordinate with the regional team to ensure excellent customer service
* Utilize a consultative and strategic sales approach to strengthen Lucas Meyer Cosmetic's position within key accounts
* Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote LMC's offerings

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Business, or Marketing
* 2-7 years of sales experience, preferably within the cosmetics and personal care industry
* Established customer network on the West Coast
* 50% travel for customer visits and industry trade shows
* Highly skilled at juggling multiple tasks and managing competing deadlines in fast-paced environments
