This Associate Chemist position is in our General Industrial Electrodeposition R&D group at the Minneapolis, MN, site. This position will be responsible for a variety of exciting activities related to troubleshooting, stabilizing, and correcting external customer complaints, internal manufacturing optimization, and quality related endeavors. This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans. - Working closely with team to investigate and resolve customer complaints for General Industrial Electrodeposition products through prioritizing, executing, and analyzing of experimental data with clear and accurate conclusions.
- Providing timely and accurate data to help resolve field complaints, raw material issues, manufacturing problems, and product development.
- Display a basic working knowledge of chemical handling, raw material usage, substrate preparation, and operation of laboratory instrumentation.
- Responsible for compiling and analyzing data into technical documentation daily, whether into lab books or a laboratory database.
- Plan and execute individual projects, functioning under minimal supervision. Able to function on a team with the opportunity to lead small to medium sized group projects.
- Innovatively troubleshooting customer issues with moderate supervision to provide workable solutions for our customers.
- Follow basic formulation guidelines and develop innovative paint solutions while utilizing standardized testing protocols related to Electrodeposition products.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field. Must be at least 18 years of age Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis Experience working with MS Office. Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors so you can correctly tint paint to the colors desired by customers.
