About Us

We are the Adobe Globalization Engineering Team-a team of passionate, experienced engineers from a diverse set of backgrounds who share a deep appreciation for language and culture. Our mission goes beyond personal identity; we focus on how language and culture intersect with technology. We take pride in crafting experiences that feel native and seamless for people who may communicate in languages different from our own.

The Opportunity

Do you love delving into open-ended problems and crafting the path forward? Are you passionate about building at the intersection of modern web applications and LLM technology? Are you a builder who enjoys leading technical work while assisting in product decisions through close collaboration with cross-functional partners?

We're looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer who appreciates culture like we do. Prior experience in localization isn't required, as long as you're someone who loves to learn. This role will be supporting Adobe Express, a modern web-based editor for visual content. Specifically, you will lead the Express efforts in features related to translation and cultural adaptation, ensuring that templates resonate with all audiences.

In this role, you'll own technical architecture and act as a product-minded engineer, aligning design, product, and quality from an engineering lens. You'll have autonomy, broad ownership, and room to grow-ideal for ambitious technologists who challenge convention and think holistically. We value thoughtful contributors over rigid roles; whether it's data, UX, or strategy, we pitch in. You'll thrive if you bring sharp insights and aren't afraid to share them.

What you'll do
  • Build functional, reliable, and maintainable systems with a focus on simplicity, clarity, and long-term maintainability.
  • Design and evolve web application architecture to meet product needs, balancing flexibility and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (product, design, quality) to deliver high-impact user experiences with engineering excellence.
  • Continuously analyze and optimize performance, ensuring a responsive and seamless user experience across devices.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting a collaborative, inclusive, and team culture with a focus on growth.
  • Ship responsive, scalable solutions built to serve a large and diverse global audience.
  • Turn insights into impact by using analytics, user research, and community feedback to identify usability improvements and drive thoughtful feature development.
What you need to succeed
  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying web applications.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when speaking to leaders and other collaborators.
  • A proactive approach-you take initiative, anticipate challenges, and don't wait to be told what to do.
  • Experience in TypeScript/HTML/CSS and modern web technologies.
  • Ability to successfully implement and compete in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
Nice to have
  • Experience in modern web-based editors or games (applications that emphasize detailed rendering, high UI performance, and real-time collaborative editing).
  • Experience in product localization (string overflow & truncation, etc).
  • Exposure to user analytics or feedback systems to inform UX improvements (usage of telemetry and feature flags to guide iteration or A/B tests).
  • Comfort contributing to or maintaining design systems or shared UI libraries across large product surfaces.
