Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer (SQE) with experience in aerospace or avionics software development environments. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance of ground-based systems. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including software, systems, and compliance engineers to implement rigorous testing processes, build automation pipelines, and support ground tool applications.

This is an on-site position, supporting first shift manufacturing operations at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Process Engineering Manager.

How You Will Do It:

Verification & Validation



  • Develop, execute, and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures for mission-critical software components.
  • Perform unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing for ground tools.
  • Validate software requirements for correctness, completeness, and testability.


Test Automation & Tools



  • Design and maintain automated test framework for functional, regression, and interface testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous validation and early defect detection.
  • Use scripting languages and tools to enhance test coverage and efficiency.


Compliance & Traceability



  • Ensure software verification activities comply with DO-330 and other relevant aerospace standards
  • Support generation of certification artifacts such as test reports and traceability matrices.


CI/CD & Quality Gatekeeping



  • Support integration of verification steps into CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor test environments, simulate failures, and triage failures with debugging tools
  • Work with DevOps and system engineering to ensure continuous system-level validation.


Final software inspection



  • Serve as the final quality gate before formal release and integration into airborne platform or GCS system.
  • Conduct independent software reviews, static code analysis, and exploratory testing under representative conditions.
  • Advocate for Safety, robustness, and user-centric design in critical systems.



What We Look For:
Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, ideally in aerospace, defense, or regulated domains.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python preferred) and use of test automation tools.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, version control (git), and issue tracking (ADO, Jira)


Desired



  • Knowledge of model-based development environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for avionics systems
  • Experience with creating pipeline automation for testing
