This vacancy will be posted on internal Career Website for 5 business days.Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes. We are currently seeking Physician Assistants to join our esteemed Department of Oncology. As part of our astonishing team, you will be collaborating with physician and other healthcare providers for planning, evaluation, coordination, implementation and facilitation of all facets of care for patients. Physician Assistants are expected to demonstrate advanced and diverse clinical knowledge and skills in the capacity of clinicians, educator, researcher, collaborator and patient advocate to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a semi-autonomous, self-directed role in accordance with professional standards and clinical expertise. The Physician Assistant will: Conduct thorough oncology history and physical examinations. Review and interpret imaging and laboratory information. Manage medical complications related to advanced cancer. Manage patients with chemotherapy side effects and complications. Administer and prescribe medications specialty medications. Discuss patient care and progress with medical team. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred Graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York State NCCPA certified 6 months of Physician Assistant experience required Oncology experience preferred Must be able to work across multiple campuses (Moses and Einstein), if necessary Montefiore Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
