Job Details:
Mercer University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach. Women's Lacrosse at Mercer University is an NCAA Division I sport and member of the Southern Conference. This is a full-time, 12-month position with full benefits.

Responsibilities:

The assistant coach is responsible for helping to develop a Division I Intercollegiate Lacrosse program. Duties include, but are not limited to, player development and evaluation, scouting/film analysis, fundraising, and monitoring of student athlete's academic progress and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college is required along with some prior coaching experience. Division I coaching experience preferred. Applicants must have the ability to evaluate, recruit, teach, motivate, and mentor quality student-athletes. Must demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively with staff, faculty, and other members of the university community. The successful candidate must be able to articulate the values of a Mercer education and the role intercollegiate athletics plays in the development of student-athletes. Strong leadership qualities and an enthusiastic personality are essential.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules in relation to women's lacrosse
  • NCAA Recruiting test which allows coach to recruit off campus
  • Knowledge to identify prospective student athletes who can be successful in a rigorous academic and athletic environment
  • Proven ability to communicate with college and high school students
  • Assist with daily office operations
  • Assist with team equipment and team travel
