Job Description

Perform advanced numerical analysis and computational simulations to tackle complex engineering challenges. Support and collaborate with diverse teams to drive innovation in developing structural engineering solutions across various domains including structural, fire, thermal, seismic, and vibration analysis. Conduct research studies, code reviews, landscape analysis and contribute to idea development, prototyping and physical testing.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct advanced numerical analysis and computational simulations with no supervision, including nonlinear and transient analysis, to assess structural system performance under diverse loading scenarios.

  • Develop innovative numerical algorithms and computational models advancing simulation capabilities for complex engineering phenomena across multiple disciplines such as structural, fire, thermal, vibration, dynamics and other relevant areas, utilizing multiple general-purpose FEA software.

  • Serve as a senior and reliable team member to interpret analytical solutions and review and approve junior team members tasks and technical reports.

  • Conduct scientific literature surveys and contribute to idea development for research studies, fostering innovation within the team.

  • Demonstrate effective project management capability.

  • Lead research studies, providing strategic insights and directing the development of new methodologies, including multi-physics simulations and optimization techniques.

  • Contribute to the design and conduction of physical testing to validate simulation results and enhance their reliability, especially in areas such as material modeling, sensitivity analysis and optimization.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer programming (e.g., Matlab, VB, R) for algorithm development, simulation automation, and custom software development to enhance FEA capabilities.


Qualifications:


  • Masters in Civil Engineering or Doctorate in Civil Engineering required.

  • 6+ years of experience in computational mechanics and FEA required.

  • Conference and Journal Paper Publishing experience preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with any State Board in Civil Engineering is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
