FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm

Position Summary

The Billing Specialist is an ideal opportunity at MultiCare, utilizing your education and experience in order to deliver services according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols. This position will allow you to respond to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions, applying strong delegation and prioritization skillsets.

Responsibilities


  • You will document thoroughly, following regulatory and hospital requirements
  • You will participate in the responsible management of health care resources
  • You will demonstrate good billing knowledge: modifiers, refunds, idc 9 codes, cpt codes, and the ability to work accounts for prompt payments
  • You will work all accounts to ensure collection within the 120 day billing cycle, making collection calls, documenting thoroughly and setting up payment plans
  • You will review the 30, 60, 90, and 120 reports to ensure accounts are being worked and followed up on problems
  • You will respond promptly to patient concerns and complaints. Addresses the needs of the patient in a prompt and caring manner


Requirements


  • Post High School vocational or business course work
  • Recent health care or insurance industry experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of Registration or Patient Accounting in a health care environment
