It's a time of huge change in the AI landscape, and this role will put you right in the heart of it.The Data, Privacy and Security Engineering team within Microsoft AI builds key platform components for Copilot and other products in the MAI portfolio, and helps ensure that our products always earn users' trust. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to identify and drive improvements to privacy and data protection in the Copilot product, as well as make consistent decisions about the semantics and user experience of product features that impact privacy.Our philosophy is to integrate privacy measures directly into the Copilot platform and product. Therefore, you should not only be able to assess privacy risks but have the skills to suggest appropriate solutions. The solution space will span infrastructure, data, product features, and user experience. Some solutions may be tactical and some may be longer-term research projects: we want to raise the bar on privacy for consumer AI.You should possess a methodical approach to problem-solving, a solid drive to learn and stay current on the latest AI privacy risks and mitigations, and the ability to make decisions that balance product and engineering considerations. ResponsibilitiesBe responsible forunderstanding user needs and behaviors, defining product requirements, managing end-to-end product development, launches and iterations.Look at privacy holistically, considering the user's experience, backend behaviors and how users' data is protected and used; identify the biggest opportunities to be leaders in Consumer AI Privacy and drive those outcomes.Evangelize learnings to drive impact: Share data and research with the broader teamOrientthe overall Copilot product strategy: Use metrics and insights to influence the broader Copilot product roadmap.Find a path to get things done despite roadblocks to get your work into the hands of users quickly and iteratively.Translate business goals into strategy, user experience and technical requirements in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.Define goals and performance indicators, set up and oversee experiments, measuresuccess with data and research.Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, including other product managers, designers, and engineers, to build exceptional consumer-grade features.
