Job Title: Engineering Coordinator

Full Time First Shift

Job Summary:

The Engineering Coordinator is at a reporting level directly to the Manager of Engineering. This role will manage the day-by-day operations of the department and will need to have access to various areas of reporting tools within the CMMS system to accomplish their goals and keep the Department and Hospital Leaders updated on the overall Engineering operations. This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

Job Description:

  • Overall coordination of the hospital grounds, engineering and maintenance on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provides daily supervision to department staff, contractors, suppliers and all vendors as needed.
  • Develops and participates in a continuing departmental training and orientation program in the repair and maintenance of all equipment. Alerts personnel regarding safety and hazards to insure safe procedure and equipment.
  • Works with Engineering Manager to implement a preventive maintenance program for the entire physical plant and all related operating equipment.
  • Maintains documentation of all maintenance, repairs and testing as required by applicable codes and directives.
  • Supervises departmental policies and procedures, standards of work performance for the maintenance and repair of facility equipment, buildings and building systems including boilers and other equipment that provide heat, cooling, steam, hot water, electricity, sanitation and facility gases.
  • Ensures positive customer relations interactions. Manages difficult or emotional customer situations. Responds promptly to customer needs. Responds to requests for service and assistance.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • At least 1 year of Supervisory experience is recommended.
  • Must be able to complete the CHFM courses within the scope of the program requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
