Purpose of Job Provide medical fitness interventions to patient/participants for improved health outcomes. Educate and advocate for wellness and health solutions for individuals, groups and communities in the Ridgeview service area. Job Functions
- Provides exercise instruction using a variety of methods to adult and older adult learners.
- Provides a safe learning and training environment for all patients/participants.
- Provides programming expertise to individuals with chronic medical conditions (i.e. pulmonary and cardiac illnesses, diabetes, obesity, aging populations, etc.).
- Organizes and performs biometric testing measures to determine results and effectiveness of programming.
- Assists patients/participants with exercise modifications as needed to ensure safety and optimal training effects.
- Collaborates with affiliated Ridgeview departments (i.e. cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, bariatrics, etc.) on exercise interventions and programming for patients/participants.
- Communicate and collaborate with any health care professional involved in the care of any patient/participant.
- Provides patient/participants with effective training logs and continually monitor progress.
- Maintains up-to-date records of programs for all patients/participants. Assure records are complete and appropriately stored.
- Participates in programming and strategy conversations with customers and Rehab.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
- Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
License/Certifications
- Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP-C), or other nationally recognized EP certification. Attaining certification can be supported while in position.
- BLS or ACLS certification. Can be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field.
