POSITION SUMMARY:
To supervise transport services, provide safe transport of patients, personal effects, requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items, and assist with patient transfers as required. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE: Previous transport aide experience required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Good communication skills to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members, and other members of the health care team and respond to the customer's needs. Ability to manage a changing work environment as a result of changing departmental needs and work flow. Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with members of the healthcare delivery team during day-to-day, stressful, and emotionally charged situations. Ability to function competently, demonstrating sound judgement. Ability to work independently and interact cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to urgent situations. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
