Make a Real Difference - Astrion is seeking an intermediate level Cybersecurity Test Engineer to support Command and Control, Battle Management and Communication engineering and execution for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Directorate of Test (DT). Your typical day - Our MDA engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities on Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), located just east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colorado is certainly a hub of missile and space operations, research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts - military, government civilians, and contractors from Astrion and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems. You will be part of the team that conducts successful intercepts of target missiles by one of our Missile Defense System (MDS) weapon systems.

• • Required Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field
    • 7 years of recent relevant experience
    • Eligibility to obtain at least a Secret security clearance
    • Experience in development, execution and evaluation of cyber testing
    • Experience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirements
    • Proficient with the MS Office suite of tools
    • Capable of working as a team member to solve engineering problems
    • Works as a member of team to solve test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problems
    • Knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topics
    • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

    Highly Desired Experience:

    • In depth knowledge of the Missile Defense System (MDS) capability
    • Understanding of how cybersecurity threats can impact the MDS mission
    • Extensive experience in developing MDS level cyber test and evaluation plans
    • In depth knowledge of the MDA requirements process
    • In depth knowledge of MDA test planning, processes and execution
    • In depth knowledge of BMDS architecture and interoperability
    • Self-motivated; possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
    • Proficient with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)

• Position Overview/Tasks:

  This position serves as part of the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) Test Directorate (BCT) for cyber test by solving complex problems involving all phases of the cyber test life cycle to include cybersecurity test planning and system level cybersecurity testing. Tasks will include:

  • Provide expertise and guidance relevant to program analytical principles and practices for developmental and operational programs
  • Provide recommendation on how Cyber testing can be incorporated into Flight Tests, Ground Tests, Pre-Mission Hardware in the Loop Tests, and element wargames and exercises
  • Conduct annual review of and update to the MDA BMDS Cybersecurity Test and Assessment Strategy
  • Support planning and execution of the MDA-led, stakeholder supported, BMDS Cybersecurity Synchronization of Effort (SOE) Quarterly Working Group
  • Develop/Review test documentation (Test Plans, Lessons Learned Reports, After Action Reports; Test Policy, Test Procedures, CONOPS development; Test Objectives Memorandums, Test Requirements)
  • Provide initial draft documentation, assist with external stakeholder coordination, and assist with the integration of products and requirements across the cyber test event life cycle in accordance with the BMDS Cybersecurity Test CONOPS
  • Participate in concept planning; design and development; integration, testing, and verification at the MDS system, element or component level
  • Manage information on share point, document configuration control, document/data archival
  • Support test execution in accordance with DoD policies
  • Participates in working groups, peer reviews, and other technical meetings
