ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare accurate general ledger entries that are accompanied by supporting documentation for bank, holding company and various subsidiaries assigned to this position

  • Reviews and analyzes general ledger and bank use accounts under Corporate Accounting responsibility assigned to this position, including but not limited to investments, payroll, intercompany balancing, debt instruments, accruals, due to/from accounts, etc.

  • Assist in the development of automated accounting systems and process improvements

  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards

  • Assist with integration and conversion related tasks resulting from merger and acquisitions impacting the Corporate Accounting area, as assigned

  • Assist with requests by internal audit, external audit, and regulatory examiners as needed

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements, including completion, evidence of review and retention of documentation, for their assigned areas

  • Accept other duties as assigned

  • Adhere to the Bank's policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting

  • Experience: 10+ years of accounting experience.

  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of accounting and systems; Microsoft Excel and other applications; report writing/technical knowledge; good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training; New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk. Must be able to constantly enter data through or on a computer or answer a phone throughout most of an eight (8) hour shift. Must be able to walk frequently throughout the day. Must be able to hear and communicate with coworkers and customers throughout the day

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position is Hybrid and when in office is located inside a cooled and heated facility with ability to go to a break room or rest room during breaks.

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
