Material Handler

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Material Handler to optimize our Performance Materials organization.

This Paris, KY role is full-time, on-site working Monday - Thursday 8:00 PM - 630 AM.

Who you are:

Minimum Education Requirement:

• High School diploma/ GED

Required Experience (1+ yrs):

Order Picking:

• Ensuring that the correct product number, quantity and type (lot, batch, serial number) of product are picked.
• Transporting orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment such as fork trucks, cherry pickers and/ or pallet jacks.
• Stacking / separating good from bad pallets
• Cleaning railcars, trailers, truck docks and bays.
• Repacking/ re-boxing cases per customer instructions.
• Labeling, stenciling, tagging, marking orders, banding, bundling, wrapping, over-pack, and palletizing

Equipment:

• Maintaining equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• Operating equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operating shrink-wrap machine
• Charging forklift batteries
• Complying with company standards and OSHA requirements.

Inventory:

• Keeping accurate records and reports.
• Assisting in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Repairing and consolidating damaged goods.
• Ensuring proper stock rotation.
• Keying inventory adjustments via a PC.

Outbound:

• Comparing quantity, labeling and address with order to ensure out-going shipments are complete and correct.
• Assigning signature for outbound shipments
• Moving product, cartons and or pallets into trailers, rail cars or containers.

• Reading, analyzing, and interpreting SOP's, coverage, documents, and regulations.
• Writing reports and business correspondence.
• Presenting information
• Responding to questions from managers, clients, customers and the public.
• PC / typing experience.
• Collaboration skills (IE: Microsoft Office).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

• OSHA Forklift/ HAZMAT certification.
• Unloading trucks, trailers, containers of freight.
• Counting products while comparing to manifest to check shipments for damage, infestation or production code dates.
• Reporting shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms.
• Signing for inbound shipments when necessary.
• With warehouse systems.
• Adding/ subtracting two-digit numbers; multiplying and dividing.
• Utilizing American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Metric system measurements.

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions.
