We are seeking an experienced and versatile Human Resources Advisor to join our team. As a key on-site HR partner, this individual will lead and support a broad spectrum of HR operations, including employee relations, recruitment, payroll, training, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be an effective communicator, and excel at both people-focused initiatives and process-driven tasks. Qualified candidates must be able to work on-site at our Dixon, IL facility.

Role Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead and support the full-cycle recruitment process for production roles: job postings, resume screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.

  • Coordinate pre-employment activities (e.g., drug screening, physicals) and facilitate orientation for new hires.

  • Maintain HRIS data entry and ensure accurate onboarding documentation.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, offering guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters.

  • Partner with leadership to foster a culture of inclusion, appreciation, and recognition.

  • Support the creation of an employee engagement committee and facilitate surveys and feedback tools.

HR Compliance & Policy

  • Administer and update company policies; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

  • Maintain and audit training and compliance records.

  • Maintain and audit attendance policy adherence.

Payroll & Leave Administration

  • Oversee weekly payroll processing and timekeeping validation for accuracy and compliance.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in payroll and HR system processes.

  • Coordinate employee leaves (FMLA, STD/LTD, etc.) with third-party administrators and track all leave activities.

Benefits & Employee Support

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issues.

  • Assist in the administration of health, retirement, and wellness programs.

Training & Development

  • Schedule and coordinate internal and external training opportunities in alignment with development goals.

  • Notify leaders of required trainings and track completion rates.

HR Projects & Administration

  • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager, including coordination of company events and special HR initiatives.

  • Support strategic HR planning and help drive continuous improvement efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Workday is ideal

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll practices, and HR compliance

  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and organizational skills

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar).

  • Previous experience supporting multiple sites or functions.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with MS Forms.

Annual Salary Range: $54,600 - 68,900.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
