Electromechanical Engineer - Weight Handling Equipment
Overview The Crane Engineering Program at Quonset Point is a comprehensive program covering specification criteria, maintenance, trouble shooting, testing, commissioning, and procurement of Lifting & Handling equipment. This program includes overhead cranes, mobile cranes, and various other lifting equipment for both Electric Boat owned/operated and Vendor owned/operated equipment. This position requires a highly motivated, well organized self-starter, ready to work in a fast paced area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide oral and written technical direction for the repair/replacement and load test certifications of Lifting & Handling equipment such as overhead cranes, mobile cranes, hoists, and jibs. Technical direction to include detailed instructions to crane repair mechanics and electricians, document and certify equipment in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), OSHA, ASME, ANSI, AISC, ASTM, AWS, CMAA, NEC, and NEMA standards.
