Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Research Laboratory Technician - Hwang Lab for the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience, Creighton University School of Medicine. This is a full-time, grant funded position.

The Hwang Lab is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological diseases and disorders, including stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.

Our research focuses on neuroinflammation, epigenetic regulation, microRNAs, and protein regulation/degradation pathways such as ubiquitination and autophagy. The ultimate goal of our lab is to identify novel therapeutic targets for these complex and devastating conditions.

Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments under general supervision.
  • Participate in designing, executing, and troubleshooting experiments in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) and lab members.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical and software tools.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and records.
  • Support general lab operations, including inventory, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Participate in scientific discussions and contribute to manuscript and report preparation as appropriate.

Qualifications



  • B.S./B.A. or M.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, or a related scientific field.
  • 2 years of prior research laboratory experience required.
  • Background in neurological diseases and disorders strongly preferred.
  • Experience with rodent handling and surgery is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
