Job Overview

The Divisional Director, Asset Protection serves as the Division Lead in Asset Protection execution, providing hands-on direction and assistance to all stores and divisions within the assigned area in all asset protection-related areas. Leading Senior Investigators & Training in assigned markets, they drive the Asset Protection and shortage program in assigned stores to achieve their shortage goals and maximize profitability, inclusive of internal investigations. Key partners for the Divisional Director, Asset Protection, include the Divisional VP, Store Managers, AP Leaders, Sr. Regionals, and Regional Director of Stores.

What You Will Do



  • Develop and execute the division's asset protection strategies to drive and surpass sales goals.
  • Identify challenges related to business-driving, shortage, and profitability, and provide leadership support to store and division teams in determining solutions.
  • Direct and manage Sr. Asset Protection in the execution of criminal investigations & training.
  • Initiate, conduct, and resolve complex theft and fraud investigations.
  • Develop investigative strategies within the assigned market and coordinate these efforts with store and central support partners.
  • Provide hands-on direction and assistance to assigned divisions and stores based on statistical results below trend, historical performance, or increased shortage indicators.
  • Manage and monitor internal and external case productivity and recoveries, providing leadership in asset protection initiatives when necessary.
  • Manage and communicate all incidents impacting business or brand protection.
  • Conduct assessments of AP or operational performance affecting shortage or safety, actively working with divisional and store leadership to develop and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Provide direction and coaching to Division VPs and Store Managers in executing Asset Protection and shortage reduction strategies, continually evaluating and coaching for improvement.
  • Serve as the point of contact and expert in emergency management incidents, providing leadership and direction to stores, and acting as the primary communication source with the central team, regional team, and business continuity.
  • Support Asset Protection people strategies in assigned markets, focusing on talent sourcing, turnover reduction, and ensuring appropriate training.
  • Direct AP Store Leadership/Captain Succession Planning activities, identifying, mentoring, and training top talent AP colleagues for growth. Create an inclusive culture that supports growth and performance.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities


Skills You Will Need

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive asset protection strategies aligned with divisional goals.

Problem-Solving: Identify and address challenges related to business-driving, shortage, and profitability, providing effective solutions.

Investigation Management: Direct and manage Senior Asset Protection in executing criminal investigations, including complex theft and fraud cases.

Collaboration: Coordinate investigative strategies with store and central support partners, fostering collaboration for effective implementation.

Leadership and Coaching: Provide hands-on direction and assistance to divisions and stores, offering continual coaching and evaluation for improvement.

Performance Monitoring: Manage and monitor internal and external case productivity and recoveries, demonstrating leadership in asset protection initiatives.

Communication: Act as the primary point of contact and expert in emergency management incidents, ensuring effective communication with teams at various levels.

Assessment and Action Planning: Conduct assessments of asset protection and operational performance, working with leadership to develop and implement action plans for improvement.

Talent Management: Support asset protection people strategies, focusing on talent sourcing, turnover reduction, and ensuring appropriate training.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of Asset Protection leadership experience required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft reports and other communications; present to management and internal and external business partners; interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to carry out instructions given in written, oral, and diagram form; solve problems involving several concrete variables in practical situations.
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
