Job Title: Associate Scientists, Assay Development Process Engineering
Job Location: 900 Middlesex Turnpike, Building 1, Billerica, MA 01821

Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Scientist, Assay Development Process Engineering will provide technical and operational support for the development, technology transfer, troubleshooting, and sustaining of our ultrasensitive immunoassay product line. Responsibilities include:



  1. Work independently and with team members to perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures and operate a wide range of instruments.
  2. Execute immunoassay development projects under minimal supervision.
  3. Design and execute experiments examining the main factors impacting assay performance.
  4. Analyze and summarize complex immunoassay data sets.
  5. Develop and document product requirements, work instructions, and assay verification/validation reports.
  6. Proactively identify opportunities for product and process improvement.
  7. Represent Assay Development on cross-functional program teams encompassing multiple business functions.
  8. Support and help drive implementation of best practices and process improvements.
  9. Revise and create process documentation such as Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  10. Ensure all work meets company compliance standards.
  11. Document all activities thoroughly in accordance with good documentation practices.



Job Requirements:
Employer requires candidate to have a Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field and at least three (3) years of work experience within the biotechnology industry. In addition, the employer also requires:



  1. Demonstrated ability conducting immunoassay product development within a stage-gate process gained through at least three (3) years of work experience;
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced analytical and automated instrumentation gained through at least three (3) years of work experience;
  3. Demonstrated ability of assay development in both a group setting and leading an assay while utilizing ultra-sensitive ELISA platform gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of reagent preparation including bead conjugation and buffer preparation gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  5. Demonstrated ability performing V&V (Validation and Verification) process on various platforms towards launch of assay gained through at least two (2) years of work experience; and
  6. Demonstrated ability with Lyosphere Preparation Process, validation, and troubleshooting gained through at least one (1) year of work experience.



All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience within the biotechnology industry. In addition, the employer also requires:



  1. Demonstrated ability conducting immunoassay product development within a stage-gate process gained through at least three (3) years of work experience;
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced analytical and automated instrumentation gained through at least three (3) years of work experience;
  3. Demonstrated ability of assay development in both a group setting and leading an assay while utilizing ultra-sensitive ELISA platform gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of reagent preparation including bead conjugation and buffer preparation gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
