Summary
St. Louis College of Pharmacy (STLCOP) at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) is seeking a part-time career ambassador to lead career awareness education efforts to promote pharmacy and enrollment in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and represent the STLCOP at regional career events. An important component of these efforts will include organizing cohorts of current students, pharmacists, and alumni to assist in career awareness education. The individual will collaborate with STLCOP administration and faculty to provide insights, needs, and updates on career awareness education efforts. This individual will provide a pharmacy/science perspective to the recruiting team.

Job duties include:
  • Explore and develop opportunities/partnerships/memberships for STLCOP to establish career awareness education programs and initiatives to attracting qualified applicants to STLCOP.
  • Represent the STLCOP at regional career fairs held at middle schools, high schools, and colleges/universities.
  • In collaboration with the Office of Admissions, build and maintain relationships with pre-pharmacy advisors, faculty, and student organizations at feeder institutions.
  • In collaboration with the office of admissions, conduct information sessions, labs, activities, and virtual presentations for prospective students at recruitment events such as Preview Days and Open House sessions.
  • Coordinate and conduct career awareness education sessions, labs, activities, and virtual presentations for primary education and secondary education groups.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Collaborate and leverage alumni in career awareness education initiatives as appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing the student army that assists with alumni at events to assist the alumni with career awareness education.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy education trends, workforce needs, and licensure requirements to inform recruitment messaging.
  • Participate in faculty and administrative meetings to provide insights and updates on career awareness education efforts.
  • Create system to track and report career awareness education efforts.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Pharmacy or other science related work experience.
* Knowledge of pharmacy education trends, workforce needs, and pharmacy licensure requirements.
* Demonstrated strong English language verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly in written and oral form to a variety of audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with today's potential students.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current or prior experience as Pharmacist or Lead Pharmacy Technician; or advanced degree in relevant field.
