Main Purpose of Job

The Category Leadership Manager (Advisor) drives the development and execution of the Category Strategic Plan with the customer through the modular relay process. This role leverages analytics and insights to identify customer-specific information essential for the modular relay strategy. Additionally, the manager oversees strategic recommendations for optimized assortment and owns the modular relay process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer buying team, ensuring that weekly category reports provide actionable insights.
  • Own the success of Modular Relays from strategy inception to modular submission.
    • Coordinate the modular draw process, including validation, status updates, and modular reviews with the buying team.
    • Lead the identification of actionable insights through analytics, focusing on opportunity gaps and white space projects.
    • Create demand and store trait clustering, along with assortment optimization and recommendations.
    • Analyze insights, data, and analytics to provide merchandising flow recommendations.
    • Leverage insights to formulate test store recommendations.
    • Drive the strategy for planogram automation and collaborate with the advanced capabilities team to facilitate modular generation and matrix output.
    • Ensure the accuracy of modulars and uphold the integrity of the relay strategy execution while meeting all relay deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Professional category advisor experience on the Sam's account is required
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with the Sam's Modular processes and how to drive category growth through strategic thought leadership
