Job Duties: Associate, Product Controllers with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, New Jersey. Responsible for assisting in the price verification of over the counter ("OTC") derivative positions held in the portfolios. Regular interaction with independent fund administrators to resolve daily valuation questions for securities (equities, fixed income and OTC derivatives) held in daily mutual funds, which includes making fair valuation recommendations. Preparation of management reports and key valuation metrics for the Business, Controllers Management and Fund Boards. Oversee Accounting Standards Codification ("ASC") 820 stamping workflow for OTC Derivatives. Assist in the ongoing model inventory maintenance. Assist in the development of a valuation and price verification framework for newly traded securities and new funds, in conjunction with key federation stakeholders (IT, Operations, Legal, Compliance, etc.) and the Portfolio Management/Trading teams. Coordinate an annual vendor due diligence process with independent third-party pricing vendors and brokers. Responsible for reviewing and updating the Valuation Policy at least annually. Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with a Master's degree OR three (3) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree with: performing valuation of equities, fixed income (such as MBS, ABS, emerging market debt, corporate bonds, investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, and government bonds) and OTC derivative products (such as interest rate swaps, inflation linked interest rate products, credit default swaps, and total return swaps on emerging market debt); utilizing Microsoft Desktop Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, VBA, and Tableau, including using VLOOKUPs, PivotTables and Excel macros/VBA; utilizing tools including Bloomberg and pricing vendor portals; working with the financial markets and the impact of significant market events on the valuation of securities across portfolios; coordinating and liaising across multiple internal and external teams in order to resolve queries impacting daily net asset values ("NAVs") of mutual funds and make real-time fair valuation decisions; and fielding auditor queries and providing analysis on hard-to-value assets.
