Job Summary The Site Engineer (Senior) provides technical services to produce high quality Dyneema fiber and Dyneema LP products in a cost effective manner while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, and environmental standards. They will operate within the organizational structure to provide process support and improvements for Avient Protective Materials. The person in this role will interact with all staff and local, site, and global colleagues. They will be extremely knowledgeable for the Dyneema processes in both theory and practice. They will be expert in product quality requirements. They will analyze process data and provide troubleshooting, reporting, and take action to improve processes. Essential Functions

- Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and effective manner and all applicable procedures and policies are followed. Take action to correct unsafe acts, systems and procedures.
- Abides by Avient Protective Materials procedures/policies regarding security, inclusive of: employee security agreements; use of non-disclosure agreements with outside parties; control of Avient Protective Materials intellectual property limited to a "need to know" only basis; no unauthorized use of cell phones, cameras, computers or Avient Protective Materials property; reporting security threats and incidents; proper control of Avient Protective Materials property and keys.
- Lead project or other teams for Avient Protective Materials expansions or improvements.
- Accountable for process oversight for multiple Avient Protective Materials production lines or areas.
- Suggest and lead facilities, procedural, and process improvements to maintain and improve production quality, safety, cost, and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze daily production independently for at least one Avient Protective Materials production area - two are preferred for cross-training and back-up capabilities. Analyze data generated by the ballistics and fiber laboratories and identify trends. Recognize potential production problems, investigate and recommend solutions to correct them. Report variances as required.
- Manage quality investigations as directed by Manager. Forms a team with representatives from Engineering, Quality and Production. Lead RCAs and track progress of investigation and ensure appropriate actions are taken to correct deficiencies.
- Mentor junior Process Engineers and serve as technology expert.
- Develop, and approve production records including operating procedures, recipes, JSA's, and change requests as required.
- Interact with Technicians on a regular basis to ensure effective communication of production and compliance related changes in procedures. Conduct formalized training for operative personnel as necessary.
- Investigate and prepare reports related to production problems, customer complaints/inquiries, material reconciliation, process deviations, efficiency, and schedule variances.
- Develop operating goals in support of divisional, unit, and corporate objectives. Develop plans to reduce COGS by continuously improving efficiencies, processing times, reducing labor and material costs, reducing maintenance costs, and controlling expense budgets.
- Conduct experiments/trials as required to test hypotheses to ensure continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and to develop or validate new products at the Greenville site.
- Elaborate solutions and prepare business cases for improved plant opportunities.
- Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.
- Maintain annual training requirements on hazardous waste by reviewing DYNPRO SHE DYN 653 and general awareness presentation. Specific job holders will complete more detailed training as well.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Update process recipes.
- Initiate trial scopes and plans for product transfers or process improvements.
- Make process changes to existing products within the approved process window.
- Process expert on the improvement plant board.
Projects or Special Assignments
- Process leader for start-up of new plants/equipment or transfer of new products to Avient Protective Materials.
Education and Experience
- Minimum requirements for this position are an MS in a related technical field plus 5 years technical experience in a plant or research capacity. OR BS/BA in a related technical field plus 7 years technical experience in a plant or research capacity OR AA/AS in a related technical field plus 9 years of technical experience in a plant or research capacity.
- Demonstrated technical process support and development ability.
- Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills including mass balance, heat transfer, and force/tension calculations.
- Strong foundation in equipment design for capacity planning and deep understanding of standard process equipment working principles.
- Must be willing to respond to all types of emergencies and spend overtime hours in monitoring scheduled work when required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications

- May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
