Summary
Specializes in the diagnosis and study of diseases by examining tissues, cells, and bodily fluids. Responsible for identifying abnormalities that can help diagnose diseases and manage treatment. This role works independently, under direct and indirect supervision, and performs technical and clerical tasks required for efficient functioning of laboratory. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Examines tissues and cells to diagnose diseases and conditions. -Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss diagnoses and treatment options. -Provides expert advice and consultation to healthcare professionals and patients regarding test results and treatment options. -Assists with lab maintenance including cleaning, restocking and specimen discarding. -Accurately triages and accessions all specimens. -Accurately grosses all biopsies and small specimens.
