The Public Health Analyst will provide consultation and operational support to CDC's CORVD team, contributing to strategic communication, project tracking, stakeholder reporting, and cooperative agreement management. This role requires a proactive communicator with strong analytical, organizational, and design skills to develop effective public health messaging, maintain project workflows, support clearance processes, and ensure adherence to CDC branding and federal compliance standards (e.g., 508 compliance). Public Health Analyst Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Communication & Consultation
Develop, review, and revise communications slides and visuals for leadership briefings, public updates, and executive branch communications. Provide consultation to CDC leadership on communication inquiries, messaging, and clearance coordination. Create infographics, charts, and data-driven visuals for use across multiple channels (print, digital, presentations). Ensure all materials meet CDC branding standards and are 508 compliant using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.).
Communications Operations & Clearance Support
Manage the tracking spreadsheet for communications materials in clearance. Lead triage, tracking, and follow-up on clearance requests to ensure timely routing and approvals. Monitor the CORVD communications inbox and screen emails for priority issues (e.g., event updates, urgent reporting or clearance needs). Attend CORVD and partner team meetings to identify communication themes and coordinate weekly message preparation. Maintain and update CORVD internal communications, including drafting emails, updating SharePoint content, and managing SOP documentation.
Project Management & Reporting
Coordinate and maintain team rosters, tracking staffing roll-on/roll-off dates. Develop and contribute to monthly and quarterly contract reports, including summaries of key activities, issues resolved, and performance indicators. Communicate daily with CORVD communications and leadership teams on document and deliverable status. Attend team meetings, take notes for leadership, and distribute summaries as needed.
Metrics, Evaluation, & Insights
Generate and share web and social media metrics reports to inform strategy and engagement efforts. Identify and share emerging trends or hot topics for public health messaging by participating in interagency calls and coordinating with task force members.
Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) Management
Provide technical oversight for CORVD's CoAg activities, including the development of protocols, SOPs, and organizational checklists. Assist in preparing Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) materials for CDC review and GrantSolutions entry. Build and manage a branch-wide CoAg tracking database for managing funding and collaborations with international partners and PIs. Coordinate documentation and communication around CoAg efforts with Branch Leads and Technical Monitors.

Public Health Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Communications, Health Policy, or a related field.
- 3 to 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in public health or government communications.
- Familiarity with CDC policies, clearance processes, and communications practices strongly preferred.
- Experience with cooperative agreement (CoAg) management and federal grants processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and SharePoint.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with ability to translate complex scientific data into accessible content.
- Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and federal accessibility standards.
