We are seeking outstanding candidates to join our team at MTA/YUHSB as a Guidance Counselor and Chessed Coordinator. At MTA, one of the premier Modern Orthodox Jewish High Schools in North America, we provide our students with a comprehensive dual curriculum education. MTA is an exciting place to work! We are seeking a caring, and professional individual with excellent social intelligence and communication skills, who can work well with others, and is responsible and organized. Candidates should be able to relate to students, young adults, and parents, and should have the skills necessary to effectively network with local schools and institutions.

Position Responsibilities:
|
General Responsibilities This position includes three areas of responsibility. The primary responsibility is to serve as a guidance counselor. The secondary responsibility is to serve as the chessed administrator. Lastly, the candidate will teach Judaic Studies for 45 minutes a day. Guidance Responsibilities
- Meet regularly with individual students to discuss their social-emotional health and development.
- Communicate with parents and outside mental health professionals, when appropriate, to ensure that we have all relevant information about our students, as well as to ensure that we are partnering together regarding the social-emotional health and development of each student.
- Plan and implement social-emotional programming for students and parents alongside the Director of Guidance.
- Communicate and collaborate with teachers regarding the social-emotional development of each student.
Chessed Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a chessed trip for each shiur, in conjunction with the shiur rebbe.
- Develop educational programming in advance of and as a follow-up to each trip.
- Provide opportunities for individuals to participate in chessed programming in each of our feeder communities.
- Lead the Leadership Institute.
- Work with student leaders to create student-led chessed trips.
Teaching
- Teach one period of Judaic Studies.

Experience & Educational Background:

- Master's degree in Social Work
- Semicha is desirable but not necessary

Salary Range:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
