Corrections Locksmith - SCI Camp Hill

As a Corrections Locksmith, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment used to open, close, and lock sliding doors, grills, and gates as well as devices with tracks, bearings, drive chains, electric motors, gear drives, and bushings. Work involves installing, maintaining, and repairing new, existing, or inoperable locks and associated mechanisms. You will be required to perform routine and preventative maintenance checks to ensure equipment is operating properly. You will have the opportunity to produce original and duplicate keys from blanks, log broken, and damaged keys as well as make necessary adjustments to master and issued key sets. Additionally, you will oversee inmates in the performance of non-security related tasks, such as moving materials, hanging doors, and repairing door closures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in the locksmith trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
