Job Summary Oversees the daily clinical operations of the radiation therapy department and is responsible for both clinical and administrative duties. Works in collaboration with, and as a part of, the Radiation Oncology Leadership Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Essential Functions

Perform the duties of a radiation therapist as necessary. Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in all aspects of simulation and treatment. Serve as a clinical and technical expert regarding treatment techniques and equipment operation. Supervision and training of radiation therapists and radiation therapy assistants; Responsible for establishing metrics for performance and assessment to include coaching and corrective action, perform team member hiring, comprehensive training and orientation of new team members, and provide appropriate educational and training opportunities. Assure all team members are in compliance with departmental and organizational training requirements. Develop and coordinate multi-disciplinary patient care plans to achieve desired patient outcomes. Coordinate clinical operations with physicians, therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other team members to ensure that patients receive integrated, timely, and accurate treatments. Assist in maintaining the departments quality assurance programs and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives. Actively manage labor resources based on workload requirements and changing priorities. Ensure team members adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care. Ensure all regulatory, state, and accrediting agency standards and requirements are maintained. Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures Participate in departmental leadership activities such as development of strategic plans, projects related to new technologies and facilities, annual budgeting, and monitoring fiscal performance and productivity to meet defined targets. Ability to adapt to dynamic situations, develop contingency plans, and proactively plan, direct, and implement changes and new technology. Demonstrates leadership skills and independent actions necessary to support the radiation oncology department. Responsible for ordering medical, office, and contracted services and supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have direct reports.
