Die Cast Process Engineer

Full Time/Direct Hire

Are you passionate about process improvement and ready to make a tangible impact on manufacturing performance? We're looking for a Die Cast Process Engineer to join our team and take the lead in developing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance die casting operations. In this role, you'll troubleshoot challenges on the shop floor, refine process parameters, and collaborate across departments to ensure we meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and consistency.


What You'll Do:


  • Develop and document robust die casting processes, including shot profiles, spray patterns, and key parameters.



  • Lead root cause investigations to resolve casting defects and process issues.



  • Continuously optimize processes to reduce scrap, improve part quality, and shorten cycle times.



  • Support new tooling launches and process validations in coordination with tooling and program teams.



  • Create and update standard work instructions and detailed process documentation.



  • Participate in APQP activities and support PPAP documentation for new and existing programs.



  • Collaborate with maintenance and automation teams to implement process improvements in die cast cells.



  • Track process metrics like OEE, downtime, scrap, and tooling performance to identify improvement opportunities.



  • Use ERP and production data to monitor trends and drive decision-making.



  • Train setup and production personnel on process best practices and standards.




What You'll Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).



  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a high-pressure die casting environment.



  • Solid understanding of casting fundamentals, thermal control, and material behavior.



  • Skilled in using data for process troubleshooting and optimization.



  • Familiar with APQP, PPAP, and ISO/TS quality systems.



  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ERP system experience a plus.



  • Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.



  • Clear communicator with excellent documentation and training skills.




Working Environment:


  • Split between office and shop floor environments.



  • Occasional support required for off-shift troubleshooting and trials.



  • Must wear PPE and follow all safety protocols in production areas.
