Overview AVIAN is seeking a Junior Strategic Communication Specialist to support a Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) government customer. This position is contingent upon award. You will work as part of a strategic communication team, with a primary focus on developing high-impact written content that supports both internal and external communication objectives. The ideal candidate excels at crafting clear, concise, and compelling narratives tailored to a variety of audiences and formats, including articles, speeches, media responses, and strategic communication plans. Strong storytelling ability, editorial precision, and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to integrate written content into broader multimedia and communication efforts. You will join AVIAN's cadre of creative professionals who specialize in strategic communication, graphic design, marketing, multimedia production and more. Our creative team supports each other through constructive peer reviews, shares professional resources and regularly gathers for continuing education sessions. This is a hybrid position with on-site responsibilities at NAS Patuxent River. Responsibilities
Serve as key member of strategic communications team, with strong emphasis on writing and content development for both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications Education: BA/BS degree plus one to three years of combined experience in the communications field. Desired Experience: 2 years of experience supporting naval aviation programs and developing video projects
