Position Description:

As a Research Program Coordinator II in the Department of Emergency Medicine you will work closely with Director of Research Operations (DRO) to coordinate daily administrative activities of the Research Mission. Provide support to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program's goals and outputs. Provide support for research study activities under the guidance of Principal Investigators (PI), DRO, and Vice Chair for Research and Scholarship (VCRS).

Primary Functions

Research Support:

  • Assist faculty, trainees, and staff with the preparation and submission of IRB applications, continuing reviews, and other regulatory documents, under supervision or with guidance from PI or DRO.
  • Conduct library and database searches for potential grant opportunities and share relevant findings with faculty or senior research team members.
  • Support data collection and entry efforts for designated research projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocol under the direction of the study lead.
  • Help compile documents for grant submissions, publications, and other relevant reports, including assisting with formatting, uploading, and routing through internal systems, under supervision.
  • Support communication between PIs and external funders by coordinating routine correspondence and tracking reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with scheduling and logistics for meetings with community representatives and other partners involved in research projects.
  • Provide coordination support for designated research studies, including scheduling, meeting preparation, and document organization, under the direction of a PI or project manager.

Research Administration:

  • Lead project management, planning and tracking for the research mission in terms of metrics, outputs, meetings and the like under the advisement of the DRO and VCRS.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining research policies, standard operating procedures, and organizational tools.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research Operations (DRO) to facilitate and coordinate research process flows, from project idea to data dissemination.
  • Track faculty and trainee research outputs and deliverables to develop the department's annual research report.
  • Develop program materials, including educational materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports for the research mission and its project, as designated by VCRS and DRO.
  • Participate on appropriate committees, in consultation with the VCRS and DRO, to advance skills in research and program coordination, as well as departmental representation.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of department's annual research forum, as well as other research conferences and scholarly symposia as determined by the VCRS.

Position Requirements:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in health and or research-related fields

Minimum Required Experience: 3 years post bachelor's degree

Preferred Education: Masters in public health, health services research, social sciences, or similar preferred

Preferred Experience: Working with grant funded researchers and on administrative projects
