The Georgia State University Honors College is currently recruiting for an Admissions Counselor III; this position will work within a team comprised of Honors College staff and will report to the Honors College Director of Admissions and Recruitment. The Honors College Admissions Counselor will focus their efforts on the recruitment and enrollment of high-ability students at both the Atlanta and the Perimeter campuses.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Plan and implement Honors College specific recruitment and yield events. Gather prospect/applicant/admit student data on events and assist with targeted communication to high ability students.


* Counsel applicants regarding Honors College admission requirements and procedures and Honors College scholarships.


* Schedule, plan, execute and assess information sessions and accepted student visits/events.


* Aid Director of Communications and Director of Admissions with creation and update of Honors admissions marketing materials and communications.


* Coordinate with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Welcome Center to provide ongoing training and/or support for high-ability student recruitment.


* Gather and present prospective student data and identify trends and areas of need.


* Represent the Honors College and Georgia State University at select recruitment events throughout the region.


* Coordinate with Honors College Ambassadors, Scholars and students to staff various prospective student events

throughout the application and yield cycles.


* Mentor student workers (University Assistantship Program) associated with the Honors College's admissions team.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

In addition to the University's minimum qualifications for hire, the successful candidate will have:
* Demonstrable experience in management of personnel and/or projects and groups
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both virtual and in-person.
* Experience with high-ability student recruitment and/or retention
* Ability to work independently and develop project timelines and associated tasks to be completed
* Experience with higher ed applications: Slate CRM and Banner.
