The Spirit of the Position:
The Regional Assistant Controller position reports to the Regional Controller and supports the region and it's management by ensuring accuracy in compiling and reporting all financial information related to the region in a timely and accurate manner.
Principal Job Duties:
- Review monthly financial reports that have been completed by the CAS Team to ensure compliance to GAAP accounting and company policy.
- Proactive and timely review of the monthly variance notes before they are sent to the regional and HO teams
- Drive the annual budget process in partnership with the Regional Controller, the operational teams, and department heads
- Assist in preparation and review of semi-annual reforecasts
- Develop and implement policies, controls, and procedures to improve financial performance, efficiency, and accuracy region wide.
- Collect and measure financial data to analyze financial performance
- Prepare various ad hoc reports for Regional Controller
- Partners with Regional Operations Teams to analyze and solve operational and financial challenges and opportunities within the region and across LAZ
- Assist with training operating team in LAZ accounting policies and compliance
- Provide support for significant new projects or initiatives being deployed with the region from a financial perspective.
- Act as the point person between the Home Office Finance Departments and the Region
- Answer incoming emails and electronic requests.
- Ability to travel as needed across the region
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or minimum of 7 years equivalent experience
- 5+ years in Financial Analysis, Financial Operations or an operational or general management role within the company or similar industry with financial reporting responsibilities
- 2+ years in a management role
- Advance to expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Must have strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical ability
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Property management accounting experience is preferred but not required.
- Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation:
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a base salary, bonus opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package.
