Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer Principal (Cloud Strategy & Migration) located at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex in Montgomery, AL, within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), to support the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Common Services (CS). ERP Common Services is responsible for establishing, integrating, and sustaining common engineered infrastructure and services capabilities across the Air Force's ERP applications. ERP CS supports the deployment of the Air Force Integrated Personnel and Pay System (AFIPPS-ACAT I), Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS-ACAT I) and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Initiative (MROi-BCAT II). This position supports GBE.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a highly motivated individual with Network Engineer experience. The Network Engineer Principal shall have responsibilities to advise and support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked IT systems. Functions required to be performed by individuals in this specialty may include:



  • Carries out all phases of information systems/networks security program that involves access to computers and computerized data enabling company to meet contractual requirements for networks security.
  • Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans.
  • Conducts investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management. Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.
  • Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure.
  • Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends, communicates and implements new security software or devices.
  • Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications.
  • Analyzing and recommending cloud infrastructure requirements;
  • Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure;
  • Analyzing network workload;
  • Monitoring network capacity and performance;
  • Diagnosing and resolving network problems;
  • Recommending network backup and recovery procedures; and/or,
  • Installing, testing, maintaining, upgrading network operating systems software, and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.

Job Requirements

Education/Training and Certification:



  • BA/BS Degree and 8 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed; or,
  • 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications.
  • Should be familiar with: (OCI, AWS and/or Azure) environments with an emphasis on federal or DoD systems (GovCloud, Cloud1


Qualifications:



  • CompTIA Security+ Certification (or higher)
  • Current Secret clearance-Required.
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure- Highly desireable



Required Qualifications:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must hold active DoD Security Clearance (Secret)
  • 8140 Certification; CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher)
