Job Overview
The Regional Marketing Manager role is a position within the Channel Marketing team. To be successful in this role you must be a strategic thinker and collaborator that loves working with a team to plan markets, develop customers, model partnership with sales and lead with a customer focused attitude.
Highlights of your role
Responsible and accountable for planning and implementing Channel Marketing Programs, including dealer and market strategies in partnership with the sales team, and on behalf of dealers. This requires a depth of knowledge of local markets and sales team objectives in assigned regions. This includes everything from strategic planning to tactical execution to analysis of outcomes and program refinement.
- Develop relationships with key dealers in partnership with the sales team, acting as an expert on the local market and relevant marketing strategies based on business needs and market opportunity.
- Plan and budget for strategic regional investments that position the brand for visibility and demand generation within the channel.
- Represent Channel Marketing team in cross-functional collaboration to build integrated process and plans and provide insight into key projects and product launches.
- Establish a collaborative and strategic relationship with the Marketing Operations team to evolve and refine platforms, programs and processes that support dealers and key markets.
Channel Marketing Strategy Planning and Projects (50%)
- In collaboration with the broader Channel Marketing team, develop strategy and integrated plans to drive sales and gain market share at the regional and dealer level.
- Understand demand and growth opportunities, as well as market trends and integrate this into strategic execution.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to understand region and team needs and bring them back to the Channel Marketing team to develop marketing strategies that drive sales growth in assigned markets.
- Work with sales team to turn market opportunities into programs, campaigns and promotions that address the needs in assigned regions and business segments to grow market share.
Planning and Execution of Dealer and Market Initiatives (30%)
- Develop annual Dealer and Marvin Growth Development Plan (in collaboration with sales) by initiating in-person meetings and work sessions with sales counterparts.
- Provide partnership and strategic recommendations on how dealers can grow business in their market, engage customers in their retail locations, and develop their Marvin customer experience.
- Work one-on-one with dealer representation, as appropriate to ensure alignment throughout execution.
- Effectively manage Growth Development Plans and Channel Marketing projects by:
- Exhibiting strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Focusing on documentation using Salesforce
- Aligning with other marketing or brand plans and programs
- Considering goals, deadlines and budgets.
- Oversee the deployment of sales and marketing programs with a goal to grow sales over time.
- Work with sales team to identify gaps in segments, then turn those opportunities into action via targeted campaigns, promotions and sales enablement tools that help grow business.
- Travel in assigned regions consistently to support dealer development and sales/marketing efforts - including quarterly check ins at key dealer locations to review progress metrics throughout plan execution.
- Effectively manage goals, deadlines, and budgets.
- Success looks like understanding the business, sales strategy, market needs and making informed recommendations based on those considerations. This includes:
- Gaining support and buy in from dealer to get "sign off".
- Working internally across the marketing team to track and manage each Growth Development Plan, partnering with Marketing Operations consistently to manage claims and execution against the plan.
- Lead the analysis and delivery of Growth Development Plan progress reporting for sales partners and dealers, suggesting enhancements or changes to plan as needed.
- Manage Growth Development Plan spend to encourage investment, allowing for flexibility based on market conditions.
Cross-Functional Team Participation (20%)
- Participate in catalyst teams, Design Lab projects, new product launches or other cross-functional efforts as needed by the organization.
- Advocate for and act as voice of sales and marketing in the regions served, within the Channel Marketing team, and the broader marketing team by sharing insights, documenting best practices, and bringing to life process improvement opportunities.
Compensation
$85,000 - $95,000 annually
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, or relevant customer-focused client facing role.
- 4+ years of marketing experience, or relevant sales, marketing, and customer experience background.
- Proven ability to lead/influences individuals or groups in highly dynamic situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with Salesforce and sales reporting a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently, as a partner, and within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Understanding of marketing principles and current marketing strategies, with ability to apply them to business needs for growth.
- Continuous improvement mentality with a focus on team outcomes, and personal and professional growth and development.
