The Vice President of Community Development is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the Bank's CRA outreach plan in the Pennsylvania market. This position establishes and maintains relationships with community-based charitable, non-profit and government entities and officials, develops and implements programs to ensure the Bank meets the needs of the community, and advises senior management of emerging CRA issues to ensure compliance directives are maintained. The incumbent will also provide leadership, training, and assist with supervision within the Community Development department.
This individual will also be responsible for attracting low/moderate income individuals to Dollar Bank to receive credit counseling. This individual will assist in conducting seminars regarding credit issues with local community groups, schools, churches and other organizations, represent the Bank on various committees and/or forums, and assist the Vice President, Director of Community Development in the discharge of his/her responsibilities. Qualifications: *Minimum of (5)years of Community Development experience is required. Similar experience at a Financial Institution preferred. *Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. *Experience in building relationships with community groups and public officials required. *Proficiency in CRA compliance and implementation of programs preferred. *A working knowledge of mortgage credit requirements, mortgage products and procedures and an understating of FNMA, HUD, FHA and other government related lending programs preferred. *An ability to instruct customers (individually or in a group) about bank products and procedures. *An ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with employees and customers in a professional, business-like manner. *A demonstrated ability to motivate others, set priorities and make decisions. *A willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, as required. Principle Activities and Duties: *Assist with the management of the daily operations of Dollar Bank's community development mission in the Pennsylvania market. *Lead outreach efforts designed to enhance the reputation of Dollar Bank. *Provide recommendations and insights to senior management regarding requests for charitable contributions and grants. *Advise senior management of steps to be taken to obtain the highest possible CRA Rating. *Provide assistance to bank personnel to enable them to identify the appropriate point of contact for business/outreach initiatives. *Alert senior management about community issues and/or causes that may impact the business of Dollar Bank. *Serve on Advisory Committees, Boards or other bodies in the community to increase the name recognition and further the mission of Dollar Bank in the communities served. *Meet with community groups, church leaders, government officials, and social service providers to attract clients to Dollar Bank's Community Development programs. *Plan and coordinate the presentation of home ownership and credit seminars to low/moderate income individuals with the assistance of other qualified bank personnel. All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program.
