Description Location: NAS Patuxent River, MD Security Clearance Requirement: Secret Telework Eligible? No - 100% On-Site As a Communications Engineer you will support work within NAVAIR's Airborne Strategic Command, Control and Communications Program Office, PMA-271. Responsibilities will include:
- Participation in the research and down-select of HF, UHF, and IP Line-of-Sight systems in support of the platform acquisition and future E-6B capability.
- Development of cosite mitigation strategies, to include simultaneous operations (SIMOP) strategies for a number of comms bands.
- Engineering tasks include analysis, integration, test, and design of E-6B communication systems including all associated hardware, software, and interfaces
- Supporting RF system analysis, system evaluation and alternative design recommendations, specification development and review, system interoperability, system re-design/re-configuration, and sustainment
- Performing integrated avionics system/subsystem design maturity assessments, including technical adjudication recommendations
- Reviewing and preparing engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation
- Providing technical management of avionics systems during various phases of development, test and evaluation, production, and fleet use
- Performing system integration configuration management, quality assurance testing, and/or acquisition and resource management
- Leading TAE/SME coordination for requirements verification, including ground and flight-testing data requirements
- Contributing to ECP/TD development, approval, and implementation, and to risk/issue identification, mitigation development, and resolution coordination
- Supporting conduct of project status reviews with the customer
- Providing input to monthly reports detailing contract activities

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline, required.
- A minimum of 3 years of related, communications systems engineering experience.
- Experience working within the NAVAIR environment is highly desired.
- Well-versed in EMD and sustainment efforts.
- Experience utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools is a plus.

Salary Range:
