This position requires 4 days in the office in Wyoming, MI.

This role is a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Gordon Food Service North American Enterprise Data Warehouse. You'll be working across a variety of business units and functional areas to shape how our data meets user reporting and analysis needs. That requires working closely with business users to understand the processes and requirements that a technology solution will enable and then translates those into artifacts that are used by application development teams to create and deliver a solution. There will also be significant exposure to SAP and Google Cloud products.

Essential Functions:

  • Elicits application requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

  • Document and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to understand user requests and reconcile conflicts between applications to recommend solutions.

  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with customers (external and internal) to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver artifacts (e.g. Business Requirements, Use Cases, GUI designs, etc.) as needed.

  • Works independently with users to define application concepts and in collaboration with project managers and project team leaders.

  • Drives and challenges business users on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.

  • Creates functional test cases between various applications of a domain.

  • Facilitates user acceptance testing.

  • Serves as a conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.

  • Develops requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

  • Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

  • Serves as a liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.

  • Able to serve as Subject Matter Expert on 1 or more applications within a portfolio

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Must have problem-solving capabilities.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.

  • Must demonstrate drive and initiative and be highly motivated toward company, team, and individual results and maintains a high focus on priorities.

  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems and reference established precedents and policies.

  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Three to five years previous analysis or software development experience strongly preferred
