Essential Job Duties	Join NC State University's Environmental Services Unit as an Environmental Services Technician and contribute to the welcoming, polished atmosphere of the Chancellor's residence. In this unique and high-visibility role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by performing detailed cleaning and sanitizing tasks with both standard and specialized equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work in a distinguished setting where professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail are essential. Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Key responsibilities and duties include but not limited to: Clean and sanitize designated areas to ensure a hygienic, welcoming, and professional environment Identify and report any building discrepancies, damages, or maintenance needs Assist with building emergencies and inclement weather response as needed Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, mops, scrubbers, and other cleaning tools Perform periodic deep cleaning, including floor polishing, carpet extraction, and pressure washing Manage recycling collection from designated indoor locations Support seasonal cleaning needs, including window washing and other specialized tasks Perform lifting duties up to 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations Perform physical tasks such as grasping, pushing, and pulling cleaning equipment; reaching overhead; bending, squatting, climbing, and maintaining balance; and communicate effectively with supervisors and the public.
Other Responsibilities	Perform snow and ice removal within a team environment during inclement weather, in addition to coordinating with coworkers during group response to emergencies Perform team cleaning tasks and projects during breaks, and when space is accessible May be required to fill in for absenteeism outside of assigned area

Qualifications

Minimum Experience/Education	Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions.
Preferred Qualifications	Experience performing housekeeping duties in a university or commercial environment Understanding of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, chemical handling, and safety protocols to maintain a hygienic and safe environment. Ability to use vacuums, mops, scrubbers, carpet extractors, floor machines, and pressure-washing equipment effectively and safely. Strong communication skills to report facility issues, respond professionally to emergencies and weather events, and interact courteously with building occupants and team members.
