Position Announcement

Utah Tech University is seeking two Assistant Women's Basketball Coaches. Under the Head Women's Basketball Coach's direction, Assistant Women's Basketball Coaches will provide assistance and support with everything related to the Women's Basketball program. Provide information and evaluations regarding recruits, roster development, and game personnel. Responsible for all equipment related to the Women's Basketball Program.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Head Women's Basketball Coach in:
    • Providing leadership in the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes at Utah Tech University.
    • Planning, organizing, and coaching of the Utah Tech University Women's Basketball team; ensure compliance by all coaches and student-athletes, with University, Conference, and NCAA procedures and regulations.
    • Composing game schedules and organize team travel arrangements.
  • Create an atmosphere and recruit student-athletes for the program that fit Utah Tech University and NCAA Division I philosophies for athletics.
  • Initiate Women's Basketball team-specific fundraising programs. Support fundraising responsibilities within the athletic department and be an active member of Southern Utah Community.
  • Direct Utah Tech Women's Basketball Camps.
  • Determine fiscal requirements and recommend budget to athletic administration. Monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
  • Purchase and maintain basketball equipment. Inspect practice facilities and equipment regularly.
  • Monitor academic progress of student-athletes. Guide and supervise student-athletes related to dormitory living and campus regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA and UT rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Aid and assist the members of the institution in any aspect of NCAA compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • NCAA coaching experience in basketball required; five (5) years basketball coaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to recruit students at the NCAA level.
  • Proven commitment to academic and athletic success.
  • Ability to represent the University in exercising good human relation skills in the community and state.
  • Proven ability to assist in athletic fundraising events, corporate sponsorships and scholarships.
  • Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time "at will" athletic coach position, as defined by University Policy 328. Annual salary of $50,000+ depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of July 2025.
