SUMMARY: This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of financial planning and analysis within the financial services industry, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage and develop a team. The FPA Finance Manager will lead and develop a high-performing team of Finance Officers and Financial Analysts, playing a crucial role in providing insightful financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the team's production of key financial deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights that drive performance and profitability. The FPA Finance Manager will partner closely with senior management and various business units to understand their financial needs, provide strategic recommendations, and contribute to the overall financial health and growth of the institution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
- Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Finance Officers and Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. This includes setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews, and identifying training and development opportunities.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Coordinate the development and execution of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, working closely with business units to understand their plans and translate them into financial projections. Ensure alignment with the institution's strategic goals and provide insightful variance analysis. Partner closely with the Budgeting/Forecasting team to ensure alignment of business line level plans to enterprise budget and forecasts.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Direct the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual business line performance reviews. Lead the team in conducting in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing clear and concise insights to senior management.
- Strategic Support and Business Partnering: Serve as a key financial partner to assigned business units, providing financial expertise and support for strategic initiatives, new product development, and business planning. Analyze financial implications and provide recommendations to optimize performance.
- Performance Management: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance against targets. Lead the team in analyzing performance drivers and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve FP&A processes, reporting methodologies, and data management to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ad-hoc Analysis and Projects: Lead and participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required by senior management, providing valuable insights to support critical business decisions.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, internal controls, and accounting principles within the FP&A function.
- Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
- Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
- Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year accredited college or university in Business, Finance, or Accounting required Master's Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 7 - 9 years managerial and analytical experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Certified Financial Analyst preferred.
