JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania is seeking candidates for a Program Coordinator to serve the Manure Management and Agricultural Erosion and Sediment Control (Ag E&S) planning programs in Pennsylvania. This program serves the needs of agricultural stakeholders by providing education and outreach to assist with the development of Manure Management and Ag E&S plans. The individual will develop engaging content through innovative educational methods such as online courses, videos, webinars, and electronic publications in addition to traditional publications and in-person presentations. The successful candidate will have an understanding of agronomic practices and will be able to provide technical support to agricultural producers, stakeholders across multiple agricultural sectors, and collaborate with state and federal agency personnel. Additionally, this individual will participate in programming for relevant Penn State Extension Teams and Pennsylvania Inter-agency partner initiatives such as PAOneStop and the Odor Management Program. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work.Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. The position will be supervised by Dr. Jennifer Weld in the Ecosystem Science and Management Department. Education and Experience: This position will be filled as an Education Program Specialist at the level of Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Intermediate Professional level requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) with 1 or more years of relevant professional experience in Animal Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Agroecology, Agricultural Education, Extension Education, or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. This position requires candidates to have experience in nutrient management planning, soil conservation, farm management, manure management, or GIS analysis. Demonstrated skills in project administration, public speaking, written communication, and Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are needed. This position requires motor vehicle operation as a part of the job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
