PPG Aerospace is hiring anAerospace Sealants Lab Chemistfor our Sealants Lab! As an Aerospace Sealants Lab Chemist, you will perform qualitative and quantitative analysis for in-process samples to identify conformance or non-conformance of materials based on material formulation. You will provide support to other Quality team members ensuring that products manufactured at the PPG Mojave facility meet all customer's requirements for conformity. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to investigate product complaints and improve processes.

This is based on-site in Mojave, CA. You will report directly to Manager Quality Control.

This position will primarily work first shift this will be from 5:00 am - 1:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret test data required to align with product specifications.
• Ensure products are tested and approved per specification and forwarded to internal customers accompanied by accurate and complete documentation.
• Help solve technical problems through coordinating and evaluating experiments about the physical or chemical aspects of Sealants.
• Address problems with the use of chemistry, instrumentation, computers, and statistics, and interpret data.
• Coordinate with multi-functional team members including S&T and GAMT focusing on continuous improvements, root cause determination and corrective action implementation and other support activities within the Quality group.
• Provide support for non-conforming material documentation and preliminary review.
• Support investigating quality problems that escape to our customers with the goal of leading teams to develop corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
• Initiate and coordinate Corrective Actions when warranted and help different teams bring them to closure.
• Offer technical support throughout requirement reviews, design reviews, development, qualification, and production of products.
• Accountable to ensure that quality procedures and protocols are followed and assisting in the implementation of AS9100.
• Ensure that accurate safety attitudes, procedures, and housekeeping are maintained on all work programs and conducts work in a manner that protects the environment and safety of the community.
• Demonstrate teamwork to encourage other members throughout the organization.
• Other responsibilities may be identified to support overall Quality success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or closely related field Required
• Three (3) or more years' experience in a Quality role with a bachelor's degree

OR

• Seven (7) or more years of quality experience within the aerospace industry
• Previous Laboratory experience required
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 Based on Experience
