This position is part of the educational programs administrative team with the Department of Neurological Surgery, based in Sacramento.
This is critical role providing administrative support related to the clinical and educational mission in the department. As a part of the educational programs team, the incumbent will work within the team to coordinate deliverables for both the in-patient fellowship program and academic day calendar.

Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of previous administrative support experience in a team setting.
- Will be required to receive complex instructions and analyze need, determine action, execute and follow up with a high degree of independence
- Must comprehend/interpret written material i.e. correspondence, instructions, policies, and procedures
- Ability to take initiative to analyze need, problem-solve, determine appropriate course of action, and implement follow up procedures in a competent manner, within scope of authority
- Independently administer/coordinate complex academic/patient care activities
- Analyze individual assigned faculty members' activities in relationship to the overall goals
- Analyze schedule impact on global operations
- Maintain a calendar of events in a logical, easy-to-read manner with a high degree of accuracy
- Communicate in a proactive, positive, effective, courteous, cooperative and diplomatic manner, using excellent interpersonal skills, either verbally or in writing, to professional members of the department, academic, medical, or general communities
- Effectively use computerized communication/information systems
- Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to details
- Skilled at working in a high-pressure environment with demanding personnel
- Must be flexible and adapt to change
- Quickly learn new systems, processes, and procedures

The UC Davis Department of Neurological Surgery is home to internationally recognized experts in the treatment of neurosurgical disorders. Recognized by US News and World Reports as the top-ranked hospital in the region , our team of 16 neurosurgeons provide state-of-the-art care for the majority of Northern California (33 counties, 6.5 million lives).
We are the destination hospital for patients with brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, epilepsy and movement disorders, spine disorders, and the entire spectrum of pediatric neurosurgery.
UC Davis Neurological Surgery offers the latest technologies and provides state-of-the art treatment options for patients in our region. Our neurosurgeons are recognized experts in minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, endoscopic surgery, laser interstitial thermal therapy, and motion-preserving spine operations.
We have many clinical programs with national and international recognition, including Brain Tumor (NCI-designated Cancer Center), Skull Base Disorders (North American Skull Base Society distinction), Trauma (ACS Level 1 Adult and Pediatric), Aneurysm and Stroke (Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke), Epilepsy (NAEC Level 4), Spine (Comprehensive Spine Center), Pediatric (ACS Level 1 Center), and Movement Disorders (HD Center of Excellence).
The department is heavily involved in education and research, with numerous opportunities for patients to participate in cutting-edge clinical trials.
